Helpful & Engaging AI Tools for the World Language Classroom

Whether we like it or not, AI technology in language teaching is here to stay. That is a fact. It is better to get ahead of the game and become familiar with it now rather than later.

Educators can find many benefits in using artificial intelligence. Think of AI as the teacher assistant you always wanted. Now, let’s talk about how it can help you.

The following are a couple of the Best AI tools for Spanish teachers (or any other world language, really) that have been saving me a ton of time!

Transcribe videos and create a variety of questions with Twee.com

How many times do we find amazing videos, but lack the time to create a variety of processing questions for our learners? Not with Twee.com!

The best part is that creating an account is still free today!

With Twee, you will be able to bring to life any video.

Create essential questions, learning objectives, plus comprehension questions, and then export it to your favorite game tech tool with questionwell.org!

Questionwell.org is so practical! In order for it to work, you have to add some text, any text relevant to your topic. You must also tell it the grade you are teaching.

In matter of seconds and with a free account, it will provide for you:

  • Essential questions
  • Learning objectives
  • Multiple Choice comprehension questions

It is time saving. Sometimes, I go to Twee to get my video transcripts and then visit QuestionWell to create other features.

Chat with Historical Figures using Hellohistory.ai

This one is so much fun and so intriguing. You can use it with a computer, but it is also an app.

Students will select a historical character to chat with, and they can chat in the target language.

What can you do with this in your class? You can have learners ask questions to find key information and the historical figure will respond!

The only thing about hellohistory.ai is that the representation (as far as characters who spoke Spanish or French in real life) is limited, but I am confident the list will grow. However, students can chat with all characters in the language of their choice.

Support learners with more structure using Goblin.tools

To many learners, projects can be so overwhelming if they are not broken down enough. This AI powered tool can help all world language classrooms!

Goblin.Tools provides several tools to support your learners thought this website was designed to help neurodivergent individuals with tasks that might be need to be broken down in smaller steps.

Goblin.tools also can formalize language, judge tone, estimate the time a task will take, compile a braindump into a list of tasks, and create recipes with existing ingredients!

The Goblin.tool I have used most in my Spanish class is the MagicToDo!

There is so much more!

But there is so much more!

What if I told you there are more ai-powered language learning and teaching tools that can create full lessons for you?

There are even ai tools that can help language teachers create websites from scratch to support learning, individual instructions, and tutoring!

If you would like to see some of these apps I mentioned in action or explained further, then sign up for my free training inside the 2023 World Language Teacher Summit!

This FREE event for language teachers is happening from October 23rd to October 27th!
