What happens when you collaborate with other teachers? You create resources in record time, ideas overflow, in other words, pure MAGIC. I am so grateful that I have had the honor of meeting amazing people who I know and get to call my friends, even beyond the profession. It is a beautiful gift to call them my friends.
One example, of many, is my friend Claudia Elliot. We both teach AP Spanish (and all other levels of Spanish). We got together at the beginning of the school closures to put together a digital portfolio for AP Spanish students. This was before all changes for the AP exam were announced. However, I still find a lot of value on the resource that we created, so I don’t want to miss out on the opportunity of sharing it with you! Get your free copy by clicking here!
The resources contain a wide variety of activities geared toward AP Spanish for all communication modes, ready to use Google forms, and many AP website resources to explore. These provide students with choice and are designed to meet AP students at their proficiency level. This means that they are more willing to complete these activities.
Using These Resources With Your Students
Claudia and I presented two Facebook Lives on how to use these resources. One on Claudia’s Growing with CI Facebook group and one on La Maestra Loca’s Live with La Loca – Professional Learning Community. Today, I am sharing with you the heartfelt presentation of this wonderful resource with Annabelle Williamson’s permission. And as a side note, if you are looking for a very supportive and positive Facebook group with monthly valuable professional development opportunities, I highly recommend you join Live with La Loca – Professional Learning Community. I have been part of Annabelle’s group since she first started and I absolutely love it!
Here is the video of our presentation from Monday, April 13th, 2020 at La Maestra Loca’s Live with La Loca – Professional Learning Community.
I hope you find it useful. In all honesty, perhaps you will not find it as useful at this point due to the current changes of the AP exam, but it is definitely worth downloading as you will learn several new tools for future lessons whether they are virtual or live next semester. It will be like having ready-to-go meaningful extension activities and/or substitute lesson plans for AP (and Spanish 3 or higher). Simply select two activities out of the choices with all resources, and you’ll be ready to go. I know these digital portfolio activities will be my go to substitute lesson plans for the AP classroom.
